While we do know that a higher strength of minoxidil is more effective (5% vs. 2%) to treat male pattern hair loss, or androgenetic alopecia, there's no data on whether liquid or foam minoxidil produces better results. Some believe the liquid form allows for better absorption, but researchers have yet to prove this.
