Budapest airport taxis and private transfers are the most comfortable way to reach the city center. Alternatively, you can use the direct Bus 100E leaving the T2 bus stop and heading to Deák Ferenc tér, or the 24/7 Bus Line 200E that reaches Kobanya-Kispest Station.

In Budapest there are 200 buses lines running from early in the morning to late evening. At night they are replaced by late night lines. Buses are frequent and punctual; valid tickets are the same as underground tickets. Tourists can easily get around Budapest by metro, without even having to use buses.

How to navigate Budapest public transport. Budapest is a compact city that's relatively easy to get around. Most public transport links run from 4.30am to 11.30am, but with a complex night bus system, plus the 24-hour tram 6 on the Grand Boulevard, you should have no problem getting home at any hour.

Uber doesn't operate in Budapest because it was banned, so 'alternatives' (aka. unlicensed cabs) don't exist either. The world-class alternative we do have is the public transport network. Travelcards for various duration exist (1, 3, 5 or 7-days), which give you unlimited use for nearly everything public.
