Mitchell & Son's whiskey was originally marketed as "Pat Whisky", with the labels featuring the logo of a man on a green background. However, in 1933, it was rebranded as "John Jameson & Son 10 Year Old Green Seal" and later became known simply as Green Spot.

Greenspot had a limited release each year which is why it was not widely available outside of Dublin. This rareness certainly added to the legend; however, there is a reason this whiskey survived the downfall of Irish whiskey decades earlier.

Part of Pernod Ricard since 1988, Spot is a return to the source of Irish whiskey.

While Green Spot is often described as tasting like green apples, Yellow Spot is more in character with juicy red apples. Sophisticated and complex in character, the inclusion of full term matured whiskey from ex Malaga casks contributes exotic characteristics to the whiskey.
