Pronounced 'Crav Magahr', Krav Maga is a modern, close quarters combat system. Krav Maga was designed an intuitive and effective method of self protection for people of any age and physical ability. As such, the system evolved with a focus on simple and instinctive responces to a wide range of realistic threats.

The individual Krav Maga Defense Fight competitions are bouts between two competitors who demonstrate their effectiveness in self-defence against an attack. Competitors take turns to perform one or a series of attack moves on their opponent based on a given theme and time.

While Krav Maga is often lumped in with other martial arts, make no mistake: Krav Maga is neither a combat sport nor a martial art. It is a self-defense system built for survival.

Krav Maga (pronounced KRAHV muh-GAH, which means “contact combat” in Hebrew) is a simple, aggressive, easy-to-learn and easy-to-remember system of self-defense. Krav Maga training focuses on principles rather than techniques because no two attacks are ever the same. No two people are the same.
