MMA training targets your core in a way few other activities can replicate. Your body becomes stronger and more toned, and it's the functional type of strength. MMA training teaches your body to perform at a high level even when fatigue creeps in. Those are not the only physical benefits you get from training MMA.

You can find a martial arts school or a local gym to practice and find sparring partners. Depending on where you live, you might even be able to find a gym specifically for MMA training. You'll want to learn as much as you can about wrestling, boxing and martial arts as you can.

There have been fighters who have had significant professional MMA success, beginning their training late in life. Starting MMA training after the age of 25 or 30 is doable, but it will necessitate a more severe training regimen in order to avoid the long learning curve i.e. 3 to 5 years of martial arts expertise.

The time you need to learn MMA will depend on the amount of experience you have had in the past. If you've already trained in some martial art, you will be able to learn in two to three years. If you haven't received any experience, you shouldn't expect anything less than five years.
