It doesn't mean anything. In Japan, the same chain of stores is called Don Quijote (ドン・キホーテ) after the character from Cervantes. When the store came overseas to Singapore, there was another business with the same name, so they chose a different one.

Because of its northern location, Asahikawa's weather is typically much colder than elsewhere in Japan. This means the city can experience blisteringly cold winters and usually has fairly mild summers.

The city is currently well known for the Asahiyama Zoo , the Asahikawa ramen and a Ski resort city.

Located in the center of Hokkaido, Asahikawa (旭川) is the island's second largest city after Sapporo.
