The post war period saw the demise of many rocking horses makers, only a few small makers survived, as newer toys, mass production and cheaper imports changed the market.
This post is about a wheeled horse that probably dates to that period. It is of relatively simple construction, with wheeled base, the horse is supported on dowel struts and includes a handlebar for someone to push. Given the height of the seat and the handlebar, one suspects that it was pushed by an older sibling.
The head is very distinctive, a moulded rubber horse's head, white with black dots.
Lines Bros-Triang successfully managed the transition to mass production of toys, and attached is a picture of either this horse or one of it's siblings being made at their Merthyr Tydfil factory.
