The first General Gau's Chicken that was ever served was in New York during the 1970's in T.I. Wang's restaurant, the creator of the well-known dish. This menu item single-handedly revolutionized the Chinese take-out scene by combining strong sweet, sour, spicy elements into a dish. This is a personal favorite of mine and apparently a favorite in our neighborhood as well!
