Boiler broken down in cold weather Due to the extreme weather we are receiving a lot of calls for broken down boilers, many of these due to frozen condensate pipes. If your condensate pipe runs externally this could well be your problem, typical symptoms would be a gurgling sound and frequent boiler lock outs. You could try removing any insulation and pouring hot water over the external pipe until it thaws or thawing the pipe with a hairdryer. There are videos on you tube to guide you if you need.
