Who you let care for your car matters. Just before going on a 3,000-mile trip, customer had his oil changed at another shop in town. It wasn't until he was headed home that he noticed the puddles of oil every time he stopped. He brought his vehicle to us to find the oil leak. Fortunately for the owner, although there was significant loss of oil there didn't appear to be any damage to the engine. We found the cause of the leak. Crush washers are not one size fits all. The one on the right is what had been installed on the drain plug. The one on the left is what should have been used. It doesn't matter whether the other shop didn't know better or just didn't care. Either way it was very nearly a disaster for the owner.
