Flexible metal dryer duct (shown in the above inspection photo) should only be used to connect your dryer to sheet metal ductwork in your laundry location. The flexible metal duct in the photo should be replaced with sheet metal ductwork to correctly vent your clothes dryer to the outside of your home. A typical load of laundry in the dryer will vent approximately a gallon of water vapor through the vent. Make sure that gallon of water makes it outside your home and not into your attic, crawl space, or garage.
