Five Sisters Consignments
Five Sisters Consignments

In this era of downsizing, the eternal question remains, what to do with all the stuff we have collected through our lifetime? Often, our children do not want it, our grandchildren do not want it, and our friends are downsizing themselves. Many choose to donate to a worthy cause, but there are some items that we just can’t give away. We could sell it on Craigslist, eBay, or a “Buy-Sell-Trade group”, but that brings a whole host of issues. Safety for one. Meeting a stranger to exchange product for money can be a scary venture. Time is another. We must spend time creating the post and responding to sellers. Often the juice is not worth the squeeze. Finally, there is no guarantee that the buyer will even show up for the item exchange. At that point you must start the process again. Consignment is, for most, the best option. A consignment store will accept your items, do all the promotion (internet ads, print ads, etc.), and when the items sell you will receive a percentage of the sale. The store assumes all costs of advertising and your items are displayed in a location conducive to selling. The store owner’s investment in you and your merchandise guarantees they want to sell the items as much as, if not more than, you do. If the item does not sell, the item can be donated by the store OR returned to you. It is a win-win situation for you. Consider consignment. Spend your time doing what is important to you. Leave all the headaches to someone else.
